Northeast High School
Class Of 1978

A bit of infomation for you to enjoy!!

I would like to share this information that I received from the NEHS teacher,  Mr. Christopher Franks.  Mr. Franks is the teacher that I have been speaking to regarding Marilyn's Scholarship.
The Convocation was held on Wednesday, June 2nd at 6PM in our stadium on a beautiful night.  I will email you a file with the pictures from that night.  Mr. Howard Rovner, NEHS Alumni Foundation Trustee, presented the Marilyn Kleinberg Memorial to graduating senior Het Patel.  Mr. Rovner said some wonderful things about Ms. Kleinberg first and then announced the award.  Het is a warm, caring, bright, and cheerful young woman that demonstrated the characteristics of Marilyn's life.  She is headed to Temple University to study business and would like to be an entrepreneur.  Over, $85,000 in awards and scholarships were handed out that night.  Het received a certificate for the award and a check.
The scholarship will continue for the next 4 more years!!  Thank you to all our NEHS alumni who acknowledged Marilyn and  were generous in their contributions towards her Northeast High legacy.
May she Rest in Peace - Marilyn you will always be in our memories and hearts when we think of Northeast High School.

Het Patel was the recipient of the Marilyn Kleinberg Woman's Empowerment Scholarship!! I reached out to her and she sent me this to share with everyone!!

I had strongly advocated for more growth in women's education specifically in personal health and hygiene. As an Indian-American I had many instances growing where I realized that menstruation and feminine hygiene were topics too taboo. So I had chosen to express my passion and excitement to pursue further education in public health in order to hopefully help out women from my own culture and other alike where women are shamed instead of taught.

This was her picture the day she received the award.
